There is nothing better than finally meeting the baby that I first captured while doing a maternity session for the parents. When I met up with Roger and Laura several weeks ago, they were counting down the weeks before Wyatt finally arrived. I love being able to capture maternity photos for the parents to be. Pregnancy is such a special time and there is nothing more beautiful than an expectant mom to be. Wyatt was going to be loved. Not only by his mom and dad, but also by his 3 brothers and sister eagerly awaiting his arrival.
Wyatt was such an great baby to work with. I like to begin the session immediately if the baby comes into the studio sleeping. Wyatt did not stay asleep long once I got him undressed and began posing him. There are the tough babies who make me work for every pose I get and have to eat every 20 minutes. Then there are the babies that sleep through their entire session. I was pretty sure Wyatt was ready to put up a fight. However once fed, he settled in and was a complete rock star for the rest of his session.
I always encourage parents to bring in something that reflects a part of them and I do my best to incorporate any props brought from home into the session. Dad is an avid outdoorsman and brought in many pairs of antlers. Mom loves playing the guitar and we got a gorgeous shot of Wyatt sleeping on top of the guitar. This little boy is so loved. I look forward to watching him grow in the coming year.
